Why use a thermal transfer printer?
In most cases, a thermal transfer printer is used for additional information on an existing label. In contrast to ready-to-use printed labels with your logo, where mainly promotional aspects influence the layout, a further print might be needed e.g. to inform your customers about additional details of the product, such as contents of a tea or coffee bag, "best before" dates, data on gemstones for jewellers, size of a shoe etc., and this is where you would choose a thermal transfer printer to support your labeling needs.
You can further enhance the appearance of your label, if it shows your logo and more data, e.g. address, website etc. in addition to the product related information - If you wish, we can preprint your label with your logo and leave enough space for you to print all information your customers need to know about your products.

Label printing software Zebra Designer:
- Label printing software, customizable print templates available for every label size.
- Easy to use: for each label format, that you buy from us, we will send you a label template for Zebra Designer that contains e.g. number of printing lines, font types and sizes etc. plus the exact position of every line on the label. Just save this template on your computer, open it in Zebra Designer and you are ready to go.
- Zebra Designer can print texts, numbers, consecutive numbers, barcodes, does not keep a record of printed labels e.g. for inventory management purposes.
- Requires PC with Windows 10 and higher.
- You can also install the software on a Mac computer, however, this will only work if you run a Windows operating system on your Mac - just contact us for more information.
Zebra Designer Essentials:
- delivered with your printer or available as download from our website (for more information and the download link please refer to our support pages)
Zebra Designer Essentials is freeware.
Zebra Designer Professional:
- same features as Zebra Designer Essential, however, includes an ODBC interface that allows you to link Zebra Designer to an external database on your computer
- only available as single user version, can be transferred (= deactivate and reactivate license code) 3 times to other computers after registration and activation of the license code

External keyboard KDU - the plug and play solution to print your labels without a PC:
- Print your labels without a PC, all you need is an electrical power plug.
- All print data will be entered via the separate KDU keyboard, that you just connect to the printer.
- We will save the label design (size, number of lines, position of lines etc.) to the printer before we ship your order.
- Please note that the external keyboard is only available for our printer GK420t, see above for details.
- You can only store ONE label template in the printer.
- All changes to the label design will require that you send the printer and the keyboard back to us for reprogramming.
